My Daughter’s Hello Kitty Party

It is hard for me to believe, but my baby girl turned two years old last week. We had a small Hello Kitty party for her, complete with cake, cupcakes, and brownies.
For the cake, I used a Hello Kitty molded cake pan, with a Betty Crocker yellow butter cake mix and aerated cupcake icing. (Frosting the cake only requires white for the hair, red for the bow, black for the eyes, and yellow for the nose).
Here is a picture of the cake before it was frosted:

And now after being frosted, which only took 20 minutes:

For the cupcakes, I baked a batch of the new FUN da-middles cupcakes. I topped them with a swirl of aerated white frosting and sprinkled them with tiny candy pastel hearts. To top them off, I added a Wilton Hello Kitty Icing Decoration to each one.

    And now for a close-up:

     Pretty, right?!

Now one can not forget my father, who is the true chocolate lover in my family. To suit his taste, I baked chocolate peanut butter chip brownies and topped them with milk chocolate frosting. I also added happy birthday candy toppings, a sparkly number 2 candle, and a Hello Kitty topper.

So you may wonder what my daughter chose to eat for dessert that night: the Hello Kitty cupcakes. She skipped the cake part though and stuck with the frosting. She must take after her mommy!
