Look at all of that delicious frosting!
Last year my husband and I devised a recipe for white chocolate malted milk topped brownies. It had been a year since I last made them, so I decided to feature them as a dessert for our Memorial Day dinner. This time, I doubled the recipe and baked them in a 13 x 9 inch cake pan. I also added two cups of whoppers to the brownie batter and one more cup of chopped whoppers on top of the frosting.
The brownies are moist and fudgy, with just enough lift to appease those who prefer a cake-like  brownie. The topping tastes like a mix between the inside of a whopper, white chocolate fudge, and vanilla frosting. It is a thicker consistency than your everyday frosting and very, very rich.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with how these brownies turned out. I am positive they will be making another appearance in the future.

Serves: 16
  • Whopper Brownie Base:
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1&1/2 cups flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • dash salt
  • 2 cups chilled Whoppers, broken into pieces
  • ----------
  • Malted White Chocolate Frosting:
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (12 oz. bag)
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup malted milk powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup milk, plus more as desired
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixer bowl on medium speed, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
  2. Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Beat just until well blended.
  3. Fold in whoppers. Spread batter evenly into a greased 9"x13" baking pan. Bake for 37 minutes.
  4. Let cool on a wire rack for at least one hour before frosting.
  5. For the frosting: In a double boiler, melt the butter over low heat. Add the white chocolate chips and stir constantly to a smooth consistency. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar, malted milk powder, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. If necessary, add more milk until the topping is of spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies.

  1. This looks amazing!

  2. Oh, my husband loves whoppers! I think I will make this for Father’s Day!

  3. Oh wow these sound DELICIOUS!!!! I’ve never seen this dessert before, I’m adding it to my “to try” list! Looks wonderful, thanks for sharing!

  4. Oh my god that is sinful!

  5. Thanks for the nice comments! It was a lot of fun coming up with this dessert. The base has been altered from my grandmother’s recipe for Mississippi Mud brownies. The frosting is an original concoction that my husband and I came up with and tweaked together. Believe it or not, they taste even BETTER than they look!
