All About Ducks

Around Easter I wrote a post on jelly bean math and shared a pdf file that my three and a half year old daughter worked on. I have been amazed at the amount of visits that particular post got, (especially since this is primarily a food blog). Due to the great response, I wanted to share another lesson we recently did.

As part of our homeschooling, my daughter is reading through a second grade Scott Foresman textbook. Last week we studied the story, “Duck,” by Angela Royston. (The story can also be bought as a hardcover book). I supplemented the lesson with a five page duck pack, which can be downloaded for free by clicking here: All About Ducks.

My daughter loved the story, especially all of the wonderful pictures depicting a duck’s growth stages. The entire lesson, including: reading/discussion of the book and duck pack completion, took about two hours.
