Hershey Lover’s Brownies

For Easter this year, I decided to make one of my daughter’s very favorite desserts, the I Love Hershey Kisses Brownies that I developed back in 2011. The brownies live up to their name; they are loaded with Hershey chocolate, from the cocoa powder to the kisses (which make an appearance in both the brownie base and the frosting). To make these brownies special for the holiday, I sprinkled the frosting with candy Easter egg sprinkles and put rows of Reese’s Pieces Eggs on top.

These brownies are VERY decadent and heavy, so you are safe cutting them in smaller pieces if you like. The peanut butter eggs add the perfect peanut butter accent to the Hershey milk chocolate. If you prefer your frosting less sweet, you can substitute semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips for the miniature kisses.

  • Brownie Base:
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1&1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • dash salt
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag miniature Hershey kisses
  • ——---------------
  • Milk Chocolate Boiled Frosting:
  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 6 Tablespoons milk
  • 1&1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup miniature Hershey kisses
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • --------------------
  • Garnish:
  • Easter egg sprinkles
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag Reese's Pieces Eggs
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixer bowl on medium speed, beat eggs, butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
  2. Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Beat just until well blended.
  3. Fold in miniature Hershey kisses. Spread batter evenly into a greased 9″x13″ baking pan. Bake for 33 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack. Frost.
  4. For the frosting: Combine butter, milk, and sugar in a small saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture reaches a rolling boil. Boil and stir 1 minute. While still on burner, quickly stir in the miniature Hershey chips and vanilla. Pour over warm brownies and let set before cutting.
  5. For the garnish: Once brownie frosting has almost set, decorate with plenty of Easter egg sprinkles. Make rows of Reese's Pieces Eggs or chocolate candies of choice.
